Andrew from the United States, is currently studying in the university of California, Berkeley. He is studying a bachelor's degree in computer science.
Andrew iot r&d center in Osaka factory internship for 10 weeks.

Why did you choose in sumitomo electrical engineering practice?
I like to do one thing in my school's research. This practice is not only related to my favorite research field, but also can let me live 10 weeks in Japan.I think in the future I can follow one's inclinationsly spent 10 weeks to go to another country, so the natural not to be missed opportunity. This internship memorable, obviously I made the right decision.

What did you learn from this practice is the most interesting thing?
I did not think of one aspect of internship is formed by people from all over the world diversified environment.

SEI interns is a typical working day?
Typical workday is to get up early to catch the morning 7:00 train packed with commuters. After arrived at the workplace, I change into uniform, and start to work.Every week I have a task, to complete my overall goal.I regularly interact with the teacher and supervisor, occasionally in speech, and a large number of programming.I often have lunch with other interns, loosen body and mind in the intense work, then work till 5:15 in the afternoon.

Practice to shape your career if you have any help?
Internship enabled me to see the deep learning research in industry. With purely for knowledge and understanding is very different, and learning materials in the SEI truth is for practical applications for research. For some, this may be a motivating factors, but in fact, I dismissed the idea of "in applied research.I have modified the code and cracked software, to create a real application software based on the theory, but the lack of academic rigor as needed.Anyway, I learned a lot during the internship, and familiar with the new task.Since then, I decided to continue to engage in academic research and industrial software engineering.

In the future you plan to attend the internship students have any Suggestions?
Any internship goal should be to learn and grow. There is no doubt that you will achieve these two goals in the internship. You will learn a lot about Japanese culture, possible career trajectory, the most important is to understand the life of people all over the world. My experience and knowledge in the sector is definitely pointed out the direction for my future. The most important of all, the whole internship is a very culturally introspective experiences.
